Comprehensive support is provided for the NVMe end-to-end data protection function, including support for different types of protection information (PI) and verification mechanisms. In the meantime, the overlapping protection is put in place at each link of data flow to avoid silent data corruption.
Overlapping protection is provided for metadata. The metadata is stored in SLC-mode blocks with higher reliability and longer lifespan, coupled with redundant backup, so that serious faults, such as SSD boot failure and FTL mapping table error, can be avoided.
Data that will soon go beyond the hard decoding capability of LDPC can be migrated in advance, effectively enhancing the retention of users’ data. In addition, important metadata can be migrated and backed up under certain conditions such as high temperature, which will further enhance the overall reliability of SSDs.
With excellent wear leveling algorithm and write amplification optimization technology, the SSDs can endure 5 years with 1DWPD and 3DWPD even under JEDEC enterprise-class I/O stress test, meeting the requirements of enterprise users for hard drives in terms of life cycle.
