The MUFP (Memblaze Unified Framework Platform) is a self-developed unified framework platform of Memblaze, which can facilitate flexible decoupling between firmware and hardware, enhance the reusability, testability and cross-platform capability of firmware codes, drastically elevate the efficiency of developing new enterprise-class SSDs, and make the delivery faster.
By synchronizing firmware and hardware development, new functions/features can be designed, developed and validated first. Existing functions, which are already extremely mature and long-tested codes on the market, do not need to change along with the hardware changes. This is also conducive to product stability.
The MUFP is compatible with different controllers and NANDs, and subject to deep optimization based on the characteristics of hardware, thus giving full play to the hardware performance. In addition, it supports hardware abstraction, and provides a unified interface for the upper-layer firmware, which expedites the development and testing of new products.
The PBlaze6 6920 Series and PBlaze6 6530 Series Enterprise-class NVMe SSDs featuring PCIe 4.0 are the first batch of MUFP-based products. They have passed the rigorous tests by Memblaze and many OEMs and terminal enterprise customers, and performed well in a number of comparative tests conducted by overseas authoritative media.
